Defensin peptides are essential members of host-defense antimicrobial peptides found in both vertebrates and invertebrates. The human defensin group represents an important family of these antimicrobial peptides. They are composed of two subclasses: Peptanova offers six different alpha-Defensin peptides (HNP; HD) and four beta-Defensin peptides (hBD), which are characterized by their distinct arrangement of three disulfide bonds.
PeptaNova offers since August 2008 the antimicrobial polypeptide LL-37, which is derived from the C-terminus of the human cathelicidin, as a new member of this group of antimicrobial active peptides.
New, available since March 2012: AG30/5C Antimicrobial Peptide with Angiogenic Properties AMP-IBP5 (Human) | Insulin-Like Growth Factor-Binding Protein 5 (Human, 193-214 Amide)
