Two bioactive forms of Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase-Activating Polypeptide, PACAP-38 and PACAP-27 are described as stimulator for GH release. PACAP-38 and PACAP-27 activate different signaling pathways. Both Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase-Activating Polypeptides PACAP38 and PACAP27 stimulates the α-secretase activity and seems to play a role in the processing the Alzheimer amyloid precursor protein whereas PACAP (Human, 6 - 38) blocks the PACAP induced APPs αsecretion.
The three offered Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase-Activating Polypeptides are carefully manufactured by solid phase peptide synthesis. PACAP-38 and PACAP-27 are tested for biological activity by the Division of Pharmacology, Peptide Institute, Inc.
