Tryptophan-rich peptide with potent antimicrobial activity in vitro against bacteria and fungi

Indolicidin was originally isolated from bovine granulocytes. The sequence is remarkable, due to the unusual accumulation of tryptophane residues. Indolicidin is not only activ against bacteria and fungi, but it shows also cytotoxic activity to T-line cells.
