The "coiled-coil tag-probe system was developed from Professor Matsuzaki of Kyoto University. In close collaboration with Professor Matsuzaki, Peptide Institute could offer TMRIA-K4 [TMRIA = tetramethylrhodamine-5-iodoacetamide] which is a synthetic analog of TMR-K4. In contrast to this peptide, the fluorophore functionality of TMRIA-K4 was introduced via the side chain SH group of the Cys residue at the N-terminus of K4. The compatible characteristics to TMR-K4 have been confirmed.
TMRIA-K4 should be a useful alternative to the originally designed peptide and is now available in Europe via PeptaNova.
