Synthetic Product (reported disulfide bonds between Cys4 – Cys37, Cys6 – Cys30 and Cys20 – Cys38 )

The purity is guaranteed to be higher than 99% by HPLC

APETx2 is a selective blocker of the Acid-Sensing Ion Channel, ASIC3

The homodimer proton gated channel ASIC3 is involved in several pain transmitting processes. pH dependent blocking of the ASIC3 channel by APETx2 shows analgesic effects against acid-induced and inflammatory pain.

APETx2 is manufactured by chemical solid phase peptide synthesis and is carefully purified by reversed phase HPLC. The ion channel blocker is not of recombinant origin expressed in e-coli, therefore cross contamination with e-coli proteins are not be feared.
