Chlorotoxin is a small conductance Cl Channel Blocker with anti invasive effect by inhibiting Gelatinase A

This 36 mer neuropeptide toxin was originally isolated from the venom of the scorpion Leiurus quinquestriatus. Chlorotoxin (CTx, ClTx) is a new interesting tool in cancer research, due to its antiinvasive effect by binding to the surface of glioma cells. Fluorescence and Iodine labeling of this peptide opens new aspects in cancer diagnostics. The synthetic Chlorotoxin (CTx), offered from PeptaNova is chemically synthesized and not recombinant expressed in E.Coli.
